Finding the right outfit for the wedding season ahead
Wedding season is about to kick into full gear. So many weddings! Some postponed from last year, in addition to everyone that got engaged during quarantine and managed to find a venue for this summer. Being in a wedding this year myself (a postponed one), the list of outfits needed for all the festivities leading up to the wedding grows. The web is constantly being searched, and if you are looking for some inspiration on what to wear for a summer event, keep reading.
Top suggestions on what to wear — matching sets, midi dresses, and jumpsuits. I’m currently obsessed with matching sets, love the option of a mini skirt and crop top duo. This would be so fitting for an event with the girlfriends like brunch or wine tasting – might want to reconsider if there are going to be great aunts there. You could also do a crop top with a wide-leg pant for an airy alternative to the jumpsuit.

For a family event, the midi dress is a go-to. It could be a strapless, thin strap, or even an exaggerated sleeve, it’s the skirt style – length and volume – that matters most. There are a lot of smocked dresses with puff shoulders out there. It was a little too casual for what I was looking for, but would be perfect for a daytime event.
A few pointers in searching for a dress, try your hardest not to do a floral. Push the boundaries with print. Palm print, spots, or maybe some citrus print (might be considered as a floral but it’s a fresh alternative). I have been in search of an outfit for a tropical themed night, and I did find this midi slip dress from Zara.

Going with neutral earth tones is usually what I gravitate towards for clothing. Gold and earth tones fit best with my skin type. Finding complementary colors for your tone is important. Also always keep the event in mind. When it comes to a wedding related event, white is that color you are essentially mandated not to wear.
For an evening event, wearing at least one jumpsuit is a must. There is something about putting one on that makes things feel so easy and it can be elevated as much as you want depending on the event. Consider the fabric when buying a jumpsuit, it has a lot of influence on the look. I would search for a solid bright color, pink maybe yellow.
A linen material would be great to get a more beachy, airy style. I have also seen some jumpsuits that could double as an evening wear garment, which are a great option if you are at a wedding party for a wedding rehearsal and accessorize with statement drop earrings.
The most recent event I had to find an outfit for was my sister’s bridal shower. I found a long-sleeve red wrap dress at a vintage store. Paired it with black suede flared kitten heels and my go-to simple gold jewelry.
